The Denise Amber Lee Foundation was founded by Denise’s husband, Nathan Lee in June of 2008, 6 months after her tragic death. He has made it his life’s mission to travel the country telling her story, to help 911 centers across the country try to avoid a similar occurrence to someone else. The foundation wants to use the emotional power of Denise’s story to motivate and inspire 911 personnel to remember why they do what they do. Arguably one of the most difficult professions on the planet, the foundation wants to remind them how important they are and what a critical role they play every day in Public Safety.

At the core of BriefCam is a highly refined video content analytics engine developed by a team that’s headed by one of the world’s leading computer vision and deep learning experts. As we process video, we recognize and extract objects, along with information about the type and attributes of those objects, e.g. people, bags, vehicles, animals, size, color, speed, path, direction, dwell time, and more. The ability to extract, isolate and differentiate between independent objects, especially in scenes containing small or distant objects, poor illumination, background distractions or high activity, is very difficult. In order to accomplish this, our R&D team has solved hundreds of computer vision and deep learning challenges.

Lieutenant Jamey Moss has been with Columbia County Sheriff's Office since 2001, and in his 22+ year career, he has served varying positions including Patrol Supervisor, Criminal Investigator, K-9/ Crime Suppression and Communications officer. Because of his diverse understanding of operations, passion for technology and innovative thinking, Lt. Moss and a team were tasked with leading the efforts of research, development, staffing, and daily operation of the CCSO state of the art Real Time Crime Center.
CCSO believes that overall Public Safety is maintained through strong community-oriented relationship and collaboration, and Lt. Moss understands that deploying an RTCC from scratch is a big undertaking. This is why he has made it his mission to help fellow communities in this journey by sharing their experience, lessons learned, best practice and how CCSO has successfully used the RTCC and innovative workflows to increase criminal apprehension, officer safety, and decrease response time.
