Innovative conference solution enables remote participation for Italian regional government
July 29, 2024 - The Municipality of Pula, located on the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia, has become the first Italian user of Dicentis Hybrid Meetings. The local government required a state-of-the-art conferencing solution for its council hall. The unique capabilities of Dicentis, combined with full remote participation enabled through Dicentis Hybrid Meetings, made it the obvious solution for the project.
Pioneering the future of meetings
The primary objective was to find a conferencing system that simplified voting procedures and integrated effortlessly with third-party transcription solutions, ensuring accurate written records of the proceedings. The Municipality of Pula partnered with systems integrator Faticoni SPA, known for its innovative IT solutions. Faticoni SPA, collaborating with local distributor Exertis AV Italy, recommended the advanced Dicentis Hybrid Meetings system.
“After an expression of interest by the Municipality of Pula, a tender was launched in which several industry players participated,” recalls Faticoni’s Sonia Agus. “We won with the proposed Bosch solution. A demo was also carried out at the Municipality of Pula of the Dicentis Conference System with the addition of Dicentis Hybrid Meetings.”
A key factor in securing the project was Dicentis Hybrid Meetings' ability to facilitate full remote participation. This professional conferencing technology combines in-person and remote attendance, offering comprehensive tools for efficient and legally compliant meetings. Unlike standard online video conferencing platforms, Dicentis Hybrid Meetings includes specialized features such as discussion management, voting, and simultaneous interpretation, all controlled through an intuitive interface. The voting capability was particularly crucial for the Municipality of Pula.
A complete and integrated solution
The result is a fully integrated conferencing setup for 16 in-room delegates and a chairperson, with the capacity for 10 remote participants to join and vote via Dicentis Hybrid Meetings.
The system features 16 Dicentis Discussion Devices with voting capabilities and long-stem microphones, while the chairperson manages meetings using a Dicentis Multimedia device. Integration with third-party products, including cameras, video switchers, and streaming encoders, ensures a seamless and efficient meeting environment tailored to the municipality’s needs.
At the core of this solution is the powerful Dicentis Server. Faticoni’s expertise in IP-based installations and local government projects ensured a smooth integration process without significant challenges. The result is a robust meeting environment where important civic issues can be discussed and resolved, regardless of participants’ locations.
“The professionalism of all the people involved made it possible to achieve an excellent end result by providing an innovative system to Pula City,” concludes Bosch’s Giovanni Ferlin. “The Municipality is completely satisfied with the system installed.”
