Cogworks appointed as exclusive distributor

BRISBANE, Australia – Christie® is pleased to announce the appointment of Cogworks as the exclusive distributor for a select range of laser projectors tailored for the home theatre markets across Australia and New Zealand.

This collaboration provides Cogworks’ dealers access to Christie’s professional-grade projectors, fulfilling all high-performance home cinema projection needs with remarkable quality, color and innovation. The synergy between Christie’s expertise in commercial cinema projection technology and Cogworks’ specialization in the residential market renders this partnership truly exceptional.

With a clear emphasis on the mid- to high-end market segment, Cogworks is strategically positioned to cater to the demands of discerning home theatre enthusiasts in these regions. This partnership will see Cogworks integrating Christie’s selection of laser projectors, which includes both laser phosphor and RGB pure laser illumination technologies, into its current lineup of home cinema products.

“We are excited to align with the prestigious Christie brand and are keen to get our dealers to discover the transformative capabilities of Christie’s range of projection systems,” says David Lowton, general manager of Cogworks. “Our goal is to elevate our customers’ cinema experiences to the next level. With Christie projectors, customers can anticipate a home cinema experience akin to well-known commercial Gold Class cinemas, redefining the boundaries of home entertainment excellence.”

Michael Bosworth, executive vice president, Enterprise, Christie, adds, “We are thrilled to embark on an exciting new partnership with Cogworks, bringing our cutting-edge projection systems to the home cinema markets in Australia and New Zealand. With over three decades of experience and expertise in the home cinema industry, Cogworks is the perfect fit for this collaboration. We look forward to working closely with David and his team to enhance the home theatre experience, leveraging our products known for their performance and reliability.”

Christie’s 1DLP® laser projectors, notably the HS Series with 4K UHD resolution, are equipped with BoldColor or BoldColor+™ technology. This innovation delivers natural and realistic colors, deeper blacks, and enhanced color uniformity – features that are highly sought after by home theatre aficionados for outstanding visual presentations.

For clients seeking sophisticated setups, the M 4K RGB Series and Griffyn Series stand out as the go-to projector models. Their features include 4K UHD and native 4K resolution respectively, as well as high lumen output, an extensive color gamut covering over 96% of the Rec. 2020 color space, integrated cooling, and a sealed optical path ensuring reliable illumination performance. Furthermore, both projector series boast long-lasting laser light sources and can utilize Ultra High Contrast (UHC) intelligent lenses to achieve a remarkable 7000:1 contrast ratio.

These systems are equipped with Christie’s proprietary TruLife+™ electronics that supports a video-processing pipeline of up to 1.2 Gigapixels per second (GPix/s), enabling native 4K at 120Hz performance. Also included is the new LiteLOC™ technology that automatically manages projector brightness over time in higher ambient temperatures and more humid environments to ensure that the visual presentation is the same as day-one.
