IEEE 1284 Printer Cable uses 28 Gauge (AWG) stranded tinned conductor Solid Polyolefin insulation .026" Nom. OD. Conductors are then twisted into pairs with varying left-hand lays to reduce crosstalk. The wire pairs are cabled with a left-hand lay, shielded with both an AL/PET tape (AL side out) and braid shield. The cable is jacketed with Black Hi-Flex PVC.
