Challenge:
The Steamboat Springs School District in Colorado researched replacing a number of SMART boards in classrooms across the district, as the pre-installed software was not being fully utilized. The district needed the right solution to accommodate the basic needs of its students and educators, while simultaneously enhancing collaboration and interactive learning in the classroom.
Creative Solution:
Stuart Landburg, senior IT sales consultant at DakTech, partnered with Optoma to identify the right solution, Optoma’s OP751RK+, 75” Creative Touch Interactive Flat Panel, offering superior picture quality with 4K UHD resolution and a Blue Light Filter to reduce eye strain. Optoma conducted a full on-site demonstration for the district’s IT director and team, explaining the functionalities that would best accommodate their school district’s technology needs.
Results:
After selecting the OP751RK+ 75” Creative Touch Interactive Flat Panels to best meet the needs of the teachers and students, and increase engagement within the classroom, Optoma installed nine separate flat panels to phase in the robust, open-platform learning solutions to the district’s current technology ecosystem. Once installed, the teachers found a range of the panel’s features particularly helpful in increasing student engagement, including AirShare, which allowed the class to immediately view and discuss students’ responses to premade questionnaires. Additionally, the panel’s 20-touchpoint capability enabled multiple students to work on problems simultaneously, and with the HDMI output, teachers were able to connect to other display sources to enhance classroom viewing.
Teachers and students were excited about the classroom technology upgrades, which created a more robust interactive and collaborative environment. Technology Director of Steamboat Springs and South Routt School Districts, Tim Miles, shared, “We appreciate Optoma’s holistic customer service, and we truly value our long-term partnership. I have already recommended Optoma to my fellow colleagues in the region and would love to continue doing so to other schools.”
Commenting on Optoma’s efforts working closely with the district’s IT team, Landburg shares, “I am extremely happy with Optoma being a truthful manufacturer partner, going above and beyond to help me provide the school district with the best solution for their needs.”
