LONDON – 1st April 2015 – Leading AV solutions provider, AMX, a member of the HARMAN Professional family, has donated £20,000 to TouchBase South East, a centre for disabled people in Barnet run by national deafblind charity Sense.

Over the course of 2014, AMX employees across Europe took part in a series of demanding challenges to fundraise for a music suite and a multi-sensory room for the centre. They cycled for 500km from London to Paris over five days and took on Tough Mudder, a hardcore obstacle 12mile mud race, amongst other endeavours, in order to raise an astonishing £20,000.

Jonathan Mangnall, AMX VP of Sales Northern Europe said: "We're proud to be supporting Sense and its exceptional services for people with sensory impairments and additional disabilities. We're happy to announce that our staff will be undertaking a new round of challenges in 2015 to keep raising awareness and funds for this worthy cause."

These new spaces are of vital importance to the centre, which has been recently refurbished extensively. The multi-sensory room provides a relaxing environment where individuals can experience a range of lighting and sounds that stimulate their residual senses. The specialist sensory equipment encourages communication, mobility, learning and interactivity. The state-of-the-art music suite offers the chance to create and record music in a fully equipped, sound-proofed recording room. The room is also the home of the innovative music and theatrical workshops that take place at the centre.
