The new ASL Digital Intercom system marks a breakthrough in providing efficient, reliable communications for demanding live production and event management applications. Thanks to innovative use of the newest networking technologies, the ASL Digital Intercom system looks elegantly simple at first glance. But don’t be misled by the remarkable ease of use. ASL Digital Intercom also offers exceptional performance, enhanced flexibility, and user features never before seen in any intercom – analogue or digital. A single DS 4000 M Master Matrix is the centerpiece of a basic ASL Digital Intercom system for as many as 40 users. The user stations are connected via five Intercom Line (string) output connectors on the rear panel. Connected cables may be configured as line, daisy-chain or star topologies. The Intercom Line output connectors also supply +48 VDC over the Cat-5 cable to beltpacks and smaller speaker stations that do not have their own power supplies. If not required an internal jumper allows this feature to be disabled. An ASL Digital Intercom system can be expanded to as many as 240 users by linking up to six DS 4000 M or DS 4000 S matrix units, e.g. one DS 4000 M with five DS 4000 S units.
