Atdec Helps Laurentian University Meet Its LCD Monitor Mounting Challenges With Advanced Space Solutions

Visual Display Mounting Leader Works to Provide Major Canadian University
with High-End LCD Monitor Mounts to Meet Complex Challenges in Student Computer Labs

Sudbury, Ontario – Laurentian University, a mid-sized school with over 9,000 students and one of only two bilingual universities in Canada, faced an increasingly complex challenge when trying to maximize the working desk space in its multiple student computer labs throughout its campus. One major obstacle was how to reduce the amount of computer equipment on each desk in the computer labs so that students would have more room to work. In addition, the university was searching for ergonomically friendly, highly secure space saving products that would also prevent the possibility of theft in the labs.

Atdec, a leader in visual display mounting, was able to meet the challenges of Laurentian University by providing over 700 of its high-end POS Multi LCD computer monitor mounts. The POS Multi is a steel post specifically designed to mount LCD monitors ranging in size from 12” to 24”. It is ideal for use in any space-constricted location where multiple monitors must positioned in an ergonomically-friendly and secure manner.

Gerry Gareau, Manager, Micro Computer Center for Laurentian University, said, “The desks in our computer labs are getting smaller and we are trying to fit as many computers as possible into each space. We found that utilizing LCD monitors with their original stand was taking up too much space on each desk, leaving students with less room to work. In addition, the original monitor stands are not very ergonomically-friendly for users.”
As part of the process to find the best solution to its monitor mounting challenge, Laurentian University researched and investigated many different visual display mounting companies and determined that Atdec was the best company to meet its needs.
Gareau states, “The Atdec POS Multi provided the ultimate space saving solution to maximize the working space in each desk area, giving students more room for their books and other supplies. It is an attractive mounting device that also provides a high level of ergonomic functionality for our students. It allows each monitor to be rotated 90°, 180°, 270° or 355° and features +/-40° angular adjustment, making it perfect for several students to clearly and comfortably view the monitor at the same time.”
