Jupiter’s VizionPlus is Part of a Mobile Command Post Control System That Facilitates Effective Battle Management
HAYWARD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jupiter Systems announced the single largest order of the VizionPlus display wall processors for the U.S. Army Command Center System. The display wall processors are part of a command and control system designed and developed for the Army by Azbell Electronics in Waco, Texas. The system provides multiple command post levels with a common operating picture of critical real-time information such as troop positions and the status of roads, bridges and other information available from multiple combat systems.
Designed for use in mobile command posts housed in tent environments, the system delivers the same information in the same display format to the commanders and staff at brigade- and battalion-level command posts. This capability facilitates collaborative planning, raises situational awareness and is considered essential to effective battle-management decision making. Azbell began development of the system in 2004 and after testing and evaluation, the system went into full production in 2007.
Real-Time Display of Unfolding Battle Space
Azbell Electronics selected Jupiter VizionPlus as the display wall processor for the Command Center System based on the VizionPlus capability to provide a flexible interface that works with most Windows and Sun OS-based applications, which are used extensively by the Army.
“Our VizionPlus display wall processors enable the Army to combine the display of software applications used by most units with video inputs from a range of sources such as UAVs and helmet-mounted cameras,” said Eric Wogsberg, president of Jupiter Systems. “We can integrate video, data, images, maps and more into a real-time display of the unfolding battle space with mission-critical reliability and 24/7 continuous operation.”
Since 2007, Jupiter has sold more than 1,000 VizionPlus units to the U.S. Army. This latest follow-on order represents the single largest deployment of video wall display systems to the Army.
