LynTec Power Control Panels Smooth Production for Multi-Campus Church

Church of the Highlands’ Production Team Relies on the LynTec RPC Panels For Safe, One-Button Power Sequencing and to Save Time Troubleshooting

LENEXA, Kan. — LynTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative electrical power control solutions for professional audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems, today announced that its RPC remote control breaker panel is a long-trusted solution for Church of the Highlands, which is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and has 23 campuses in the region. The RPC was first installed at its Tuscaloosa campus in 2016 and has become so indispensable to its production team, they have continued to install the award-winning patented power distribution and control solution at other locations.

"The proper power-up of equipment is an important consideration for churches of all sizes," said Geoff Franklin, AVL systems engineer for Church of the Highlands. "A safe power-up sequence is particularly important for audio, where components need to come on in a certain order to prevent damage. With LynTec, you can set fire rates with pauses or breaks inside a sequence order. If a piece of gear takes 15 seconds to boot up, you can set a sequence for 18 or 20 seconds to give it a buffer, then start up something else. That’s super helpful to be sure it all gets consistently done right."

LynTec’s RPC remote control breaker panel guarantees that the team can sequence on, control, and monitor power for the church’s complex production systems, even at distant campuses. The patented, award-winning RPC Series of advanced self-contained controllable breaker panels and the RPCR Series of controllable relay panels all deliver easy remote setup, control, and monitoring. With web-enabled control and monitoring, they allow remote operation of up to 168 motorized circuit breakers — or up to 12 breaker group zones — using a single controller. Their built-in browser interface makes it simple to control and monitor the system from any remote location via smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Their programmable software platform also includes built-in scheduling along with sequencing and voltage protection that can be customized for optimal power management. Further, it grants flexible lighting and AV control across multiple control zones and multiple control protocols, including HTTP, Telnet, sACN, DMX, RS-232, or contact closure control systems. From LynTec’s GUI, users can select the protocol for each zone as well as set up, troubleshoot, control, and monitor the status remotely across existing networks from any connected computer or handheld smart device. The system also can send alert notifications via text or email to warn of panel anomalies.

In addition, the panel’s functionalities are accessible via UDP commands. This enables the Church of the Highlands to control and monitor its panels through its Q-SYS system. LynTec’s web-enabled panels — including the patented RPC-controllable AVL circuit breaker panel, RPCR AV and lighting control relay panel, XPC, and NPAC rack-mounted circuit control solutions, as well as the LCP lighting control panelboard and Narrow Profile panelboards — are interoperable Q-SYS, thanks to its LynTec Plugin for Q-SYS that is fully vetted and endorsed by Q-SYS. With this plugin, all the capabilities and options that are available within LynTec’s browser-based GUI can be controlled through Q-SYS.

"Power control is an invaluable element of the AVL system that makes production seamless," said Mark Bishop, president of LynTec. "Church of the Highlands demonstrates how our solutions not only protects equipment but also helps their small tech team and volunteers run a tight, smoothly operated ship. Our panels are perfect for a small church, megachurch, or a multi-campus church because they’re designed from the ground up for the specialty needs of AVL systems."
