When administrators from Indiana State University’s (ISU) Scott College of Business learned the school was to be relocated from the University’s Statesman Towers, they saw the move as both a great opportunity and a challenge. The new location in a historical building in downtown Terra Haute would likely complicate plans to build a larger and more sophisticated Finance Lab at the school. The installation would need to take into account the unique architectural elements of the building as well as its historic decor.
A “finance lab” is a display-intensive room mimicking the info-overload look-and-feel of actual financial trading floors like those on the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade. It has all the trimmings with tickers, graphs and scrolls that display lists of prices, rates, trends and news for stocks, bonds, funds, commodities and indexes.
