Israel Television News Company Upgrades its Broadcast Studio with Planar LED Video Wall Technology
Israel Television News Company is the shared news division of Israeli television channels Keshet 12 and Reshet 13, with news programming split between the two channels. Located in Jerusalem, the company also produces the evening television news bulletin, "Hadashot," which is likewise simulcast by both commercial channels. In November 2017 Israel Television News Company upgraded the display technology in its broadcast studio, replacing older displays with leading-edge LED video wall technology from Planar.
One of these installations is a large Planar TWA Series LED video wall with 1.8mm pixel pitch (TWA1.8), which is placed immediately behind the studio news desk and used primarily for weather broadcasts.
Architected to support the highest pixel density, the Planar TWA Series offers a crisp, high contrast image using the highest quality black LEDs and achieves the deepest level of black with the Planar MicroGrid Shader™. The Planar TWA Series is engineered for 24x7 operation and comes available with a redundant video and power option to ensure continuous operation for mission critical applications.
Another installation includes a Planar CarbonLight™ CLI Series LED video wall with 2.6mm pixel pitch (CLI2.6) that serves as a backdrop for anchors sitting at the news desk. Mounted on a motorized riser system, the video wall can be raised and lowed to accommodate varying broadcast angles. Lastly, another Planar CarbonLight CLI Series LED video wall with 3.9mm pixel pitch (CLI3.9) is installed on the front of the anchor desk.
Designed with thoughtful engineering and craftsmanship, the Planar CarbonLight CLI Series is a line of lightweight LED video wall displays that are ideal for flexible-fixed applications, such as those in the Israel Television News Company studio. Featuring high-strength carbon fiber casings in modular designs, Planar CarbonLight CLI Series displays are built to fit a wide range of simple or complex applications.
"We are very pleased with our purchase of the new Planar LED video walls, which offer a higher picture quality and provide an exceptional effect when shooting with studio cameras," according to Rami Daniel, CTO Channel 2 News Israel. "The new screens have a very high refresh rate and deliver better color temperature compatibility. We've realized enhancements in our weather forecast display and have improved our ability to transmit details and provide clearer pictures to our viewers."
