Introducing Zavus
Posted on Wednesday, January 20, 2021

Jan. 20, 2021 - For the last 40 years, Jupiter Systems has been focused on being the pioneer in one specialized vertical… Building a reputation as the most trusted name in mission critical data visualization systems. We are well known for top notch engineering, mission critical applications, extreme reliability, and a host of other industry-leading capabilities. Two weeks ago, Jupiter introduced a Mini-LED video wall product unlike any other, but completely in line with our history - Zavus. What we are bringing to market is a solution with image quality that eclipses traditional video wall products with unique features that will stand out for discerning customers who demand the best.

Zavus is the world’s only Active Matrix Mini-LED video wall solution. Back in the dark ages when laptops were becoming mainstream, there were two types of screens, Active and Passive Matrix. Passive Matrix screens were obvious via their slow response times. When you had lots of motion, the entire screen would look soft and blurred. Whereas an Active Matrix screen was clear and sharp. Every other modern direct view LED product is Passive Matrix. This means that they take much longer to light up and refresh all the individual pixels than an Active Matrix solution does.

Enter Zavus. Being the only Active Matrix direct view Mini-LED solution on the market means that all the pixels on your screen are addressed at the same time and are able to be refreshed between four and ten times as fast as any other solution on the market. This translates to an image that is far brighter and has a super fast overall image refresh which effectively eliminates eyestrain of viewers. Additionally, since we can address all the pixels faster and for shorter intervals, it results in considerably less power consumption/heat generation than other solutions on the market.

If you keep up with technology news, you will have seen recently numerous mentions of Mini-LED. This is due to its growing popularity in the mainstream as a backlight technology. The difference with what we have done is that we have taken this technology out of the background and given it a starring role. An added benefit is that with its widespread role in the backlight industry, there will be tremendous amounts of R&D driving its evolution, and that in turn means that we will continue to see rapid advancement in the direct view LED world. Couple this with Zavus incorporating Chip on Board Mini-LED technology. This means that the individual LED’s are much smaller and more efficient. With the Mini-LED’s mounted directly to the board with protective layers over top, you have a smooth clean surface allowing touch, and with no risk of damage to the individual LED’s like many other systems have.

Put all of this together and Zavus is the solution on the leading edge of technology development, and more importantly, your experience. No eyestrain, impeccable motion handling, spectacular color and contrast, orders of magnitude less power consumed, and no scan lines or moray. When you see the images, you will understand why we called it Zavus. Zavus is Lithuanian for bewitching, charming, fascinating, captivating, and frankly speaking, that is about how you will describe Zavus.

One more thing… if you have seen the website, or any of the press releases, you will likely have noticed a feature that seems rather unbelievable. That would be that Zavus is also the world’s first commercially available display that has a camera built INTO the display. Not on the bezel, not hanging down over the image, but actually built into the display. We are embedding cameras inside the display to create the first video wall solution that will allow you to maintain eye contact in videoconferencing or open the window to whole new generations of interactive applications.

You really do have to see Zavus to believe it.
