Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 31, 2024 – Lumens Digital Optics Inc has announced the availability of new firmware which transforms the capabilities of the VC-A61P and VC-A61PN PTZ cameras. With this update, both cameras are upgraded to capture video at a maximum 60 frames per second*. This high-speed operation will be of particular appeal to producers working in broadcast and sports production.
“With 50P and 60P fast becoming the standard for UltraHD production, the upgrade to the VC-A61P models is a welcome move. As many streaming services, including YouTube, now support this format, the 60P format is increasingly popular with both on-demand platforms and live TV channels. This update reinforces Lumens’ commitment to its customers with vital new features being offered at no cost to the consumer.” Commented Steven Liang, Head of Product Development at Lumens.
The Lumens VC-A61P range features a 30x optical zoom, with simultaneous baseband (SDI and HDMI) and IP output. The VC-A61PN version is equipped with NDI|HX technology for fast integration with NDI production networks.
The new firmware is available today at no cost to existing customers and will be pre-installed in new models. The software can be downloaded from the Lumens website, www.mylumens.com.
*In regions where 50Hz is the standard, VC-A61P and VC-A61PN can be switched to 50P.
