Christie to showcase tech leadership at ICIF 2024

SHENZHEN, China – Christie®, the leader in inspiring exceptional experiences, is pleased to announce its participation in the 20th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), taking place at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center, May 23-27. The event serves as a pivotal platform to reaffirm Christie’s commitment to the development of China’s cinema industry, and the next generation of techs and filmmakers, as well as showcasing its latest cinema projection solutions.

Christie will conduct training sessions in collaboration with China Film Equipment Co., Ltd (CFEC) to support its Sparkle program. The program aims to inspire tertiary students to pursue careers in the cinema and filmmaking industry. The event is expected to host around 500 students from various universities in southern China.

Led by Harry Zhang, product manager for China Cinema, Christie, the training sessions conducted in Hall 14 will cover the history, development, current trends and technology of cinema projection. Attendees will get a firsthand look at the Christie CP4415-RGB pure laser projector, which will be used to screen movie trailers during the sessions. This marks the first time that Christie has been invited as a trainer for the Sparkle program, underscoring its thought and technology leadership in the field.

“We are excited to make our debut at the 20th ICIF, one of the largest trade shows in China, driving the cultural industry and contributing to the development of the cinema industry in China,” says James Li, executive director, China Cinema, Christie. “Our collaboration with CFEC for the Sparkle program underscores our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in cinema projection. We look forward to engaging with industry stakeholders, showcasing our latest technologies, and strengthening partnerships at this prestigious event.”

In addition to the training sessions, Christie will partner with CFEC to showcase its new CineLife+ RBe cinema projector series to customers, partners and members of the cinema fraternity in southern China. Featuring Phazer™ illumination technology, these projectors offer advanced features and electronics in a cost-effective platform, with 2K resolution and brightness ranging from 6,000 to 11,000 lumens. Designed for small screens, the RBe projectors provide exceptional value, boasting low maintenance and long-life performance.

Equipped with Christie’s new CineLife+2K™ electronics platform, projector setup is quick and easy with auto-configuration features, motorized lens mount, and integrated proprietary electronic color convergence (ECC) for precise lateral color alignment. The RBe projectors are also compatible with Mystique Cinema, which provides perfect sub-pixel alignment for dual projection systems to create brilliant 2D and 3D presentations.
