SHANGHAI – (February, 2012) – Christie®, a global visual technology company, has successfully completed the installation of 180 Christie® MicroTiles® for Shanxi Mobile Group.
Formed in a 30 by 6 array, the installation comprises 180 Christie MicroTiles and 20 External Control Units (ECUs). This video wall, measuring 12.24 meters in length and 1.56 meters in height, will be used for the monitoring of signals from cell phones, wireless devices, equipment and cameras.
According to HongHe Tech, Christie’s partner who completed this installation, the biggest challenge they faced was the creation of a seamless video wall. “This innovative and vibrant wall looks impressive and this installation at Shanxi Mobile has been a big success. We are happy to work with Christie – they gave us the technical expertise we needed,” explained Yangguang, general manager, HongHe Tech Beijing Office.
Leveraging the strengths of both DLP® projection and Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology, Christie MicroTiles can create substantially brighter images with an unlimited number of super-fine pixels on a practically seamless wall.
“Shanxi Mobile is very impressed with the video wall, especially the automatic calibration of light output and color control that ensures that the images and data presented on the video wall is uniformly displayed across the MicroTiles,” noted Frank Xiao, general manager, Christie China.
