AV Technology Recognizes Lumens VC-TR60A as Best of Show at InfoComm 2024

Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 03, 2024– The Lumens PTZ that is re-defining the camera sector has been awarded Best of Show at InfoComm 2024. VC-TR60A is familiar in its looks, and is based on a standard 12x optical zoom and an established 4K Sony sensor. However, this is where the camera departs from standard specifications. VC-TR60A is the first to deliver integrated voice-tracking, AI-based motion-tracking, dual camera output and in-camera picture-in-picture generation.

Six beam-forming microphones are embedded into the unit to give the camera sound-detection capabilities. With this, it can identify the location of the active voice in a room and immediately move the camera head to frame the individual. It follows a conversation between multiple individuals, switching smoothly between speakers, with no input required from an operator.

“The VC-TR60A’s voice-tracking ability is uncanny. It identifies the active speaker with great accuracy, fully automating the filming of a video conference, podcast, vlog or visual radio production.” Commented Steven Liang, Head of Product Development at Lumens Digital Optics Inc.

The camera’s abilities do not stop there. As a dual camera design, the VC-TR60A is able to output two independent video streams over IP. As well as outputting the image from the main PTZ head, the unit delivers HD video from its fixed 110 degree panoramic camera, enabling users to stream two channels directly from the camera. In-camera, the streams can be composited into a picture-in-picture effect with output over HDMI and USB.

“The picture-in-picture element of the camera has received huge interest from all parts of the industry, including producers working in training environments, the judicial sector, visual radio and sports.” Continued Liang.

Finally, the VC-TR60A features Lumens’ AI-based motion-tracking technology which enables it to follow the movement of a presenter in a studio, meeting or production space. Smooth and accurate, the AI algorithm enables the camera to lock onto the selected individual and switch effortlessly to a new target at the click of a button. No software, dongles or apps are required.

Lumens VC-TR60A is expected to ship in 2024 and will be available from Lumens global network of resellers and integration partners.
