Based in Paris, TF1 is a French free-to-air television channel that is part of the TF1 Group of mass media companies. In August 2018, the TV network upgraded its broadcast news studio with the addition of LED display technology from Planar. TF1 engaged audiovisual solution provider CACV to install a 70 square meter (750 square foot) video wall comprised of a Planar CarbonLight™ CLI Series LED video wall with a 1.9mm pixel pitch (CLI1.9) in a 44x5 configuration, combined with Planar CarbonLight CLI Flex™ LED displays.

By integrating Planar CarbonLight CLI Series LED displays with Planar CarbonLight CLI Flex bendable LED modules, a large LED video wall with flat and curved segments was created in the TF1 news studio.

The Planar CarbonLight CLI Series is a line of flexible LED video wall solutions that are suitable for hanging, wall mounting and free-standing installations. Featuring thin, lightweight, modular and high-strength carbon fiber frames, the unique structural design of the Planar CarbonLight CLI Series is engineered to fit a wide range of simple or complex applications.

Planar CarbonLight CLI Flex features pliable LED modules that are ideal for video wall applications requiring smooth curves, waves or column wraps. The bendable modules are designed for tight-radius, concave and convex curves with diameters as small as 1.5 meters and can be seamlessly blended with rigid Planar CarbonLight CLI Series displays for video walls that require both flat and curved sections.

"We chose Planar for this project based on the recognition of the brand, the competence of their teams and the high quality of their products," said Barbier Lionel, TF1 editorial technical manager".
