PRAESENSA from Bosch gets a new module for GPIO expansion
Nov. 18, 2023 - The new PRA-IM16C8 Control interface module provides a cost-efficient option to extend PRAESENSA with more general-purpose inputs and outputs (GPIOs) – whenever the existing GPIO contacts of the PRAESENSA multifunction power supply need to be expanded. It features 16 control inputs and eight relay outputs, adding configurable, supervised control inputs and voltage-free control outputs to the PRAESENSA system. In addition, two supervised outputs are present to trigger Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) extenders.
Cost-effective GPIO expansion
Whenever the on-board GPIO contacts of the PRAESENSA Multifunction power supply are not sufficient, the new PRA-IM16C8 Control interface module offers a cost-effective GPIO expansion to increase the number of external connections to third-party devices. The module is equipped with 16 control inputs, eight relay outputs, and two supervised outputs for Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) extenders.
Easy integration
The compact footprint requires minimal rack space and can be mounted on DIN rails; front-panel LEDs indicate the status of all inputs and outputs. Connecting to PRAESENSA requires only a standard CAT5e cable. Communication and power are conveniently provided via PoE. The integrated network switch with two OMNEO ports allows for loop-through connections to adjacent PoE devices and fully supports Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP).
