ELMO Introduces the Huddle Space Collaboration Hub
Posted on Saturday, February 3, 2018

Plainview N.Y.; February 3, 2017 – ELMO USA Corp., a global leader in education technology, adds the NEW Huddle Space Collaboration Hub to their line-up.  After 96 years of expertise, ELMO enters into the world of collaboration with the development of the Huddle Space, a cost effective, easy to use collaborative solution perfect for classroom use. The ELMO Huddle Space is an easy to implement device for One-to-One applications that facilitates the collaboration process in such a way that all members of the group are active participants.  As it requires no network resources or software and does not interfere with the student’s wireless connection, the Huddle Space works great in many classroom applications.

Huddle Space Collaboration Hub

Compatible with any device – The Huddle Space is a simple 8 HDMI input connection source that can accommodate any type of HDMI compatible device simultaneously; iPad, Chromebook, Windows, Mac, Android, or even your favorite ELMO document camera.

Cost effective & portable – The Huddle Space is offered in three different models, all of which are cost effective solutions.  The basic unit sells for under $600.  There are no updates, subscriptions, or recurring fees.  It can be placed in a fixed location or kept portable with the optional battery pack, it is perfect for learning spaces with flex desks or fixed tables.

Seamless switching from one device to another – Switching from one students device to another is as simple as pressing a button; each input has a corresponding button, when a button is pressed, that student’s screen is broadcast to the shared display.

No drain on network resources – The Huddle Space does not require any additional hardware on a school’s network, and broadcasting content from a student’s device happens over an HDMI instead of using Wi-Fi bandwidth.

Built-in assessment – Along with the ability to record video and audio, the ELMO Huddle Space also has a built-in conferencing microphone on the top of the unit for group voice recording.  This captures the conversation of the group as the students are presenting and collaborating, making a digital record of the collaboration as it is happening.  This not only makes it incredibly easy for students to share collaborative materials in and out of the classroom but it also gives teachers  additional insight into how students are working and interacting together.
